MANUAL THERAPY

An indispensable qualification for a physiotherapist in order to be able to work successfully in the fields of conservative and operative orthopedics or trauma surgery is training as a manual therapist.

Manual therapy is characterized by precise anatomical and biomechanical knowledge as well as extensive knowledge of wound healing and regeneration. Differentiating tests of the joint structures, the muscles and the bones are carried out and evaluated in relation to mobility or pain sensation.

Loss of mobility, joint blockages, malpositions, incorrect tension, contractures or pain-relieving postures can thus be identified and effectively treated.

Manual therapy can also be used very effectively for patients with spinal problems, such as herniated discs.

MANUAL LYMPH DRAINAGE

Manual lymphatic drainage is a treatment for edema (swelling). In contrast to conventional massage, the principle is based on a specific grip technique that uses finely dosed pressure to remove tissue fluid and reduce skin tension.
